Skegness College Shortlisted for Regional Construction Award
Skegness College has been shortlisted for Construction Project of the Year at the prestigious East Midlands Property Dinner Awards.
The nomination recognises the collaborative effort behind one of the town's most significant recent investments in education.
The purpose-built campus has been nominated alongside its project partners, Hobson & Porter and Jefferson Sheard Architects, celebrating the vision, innovation and partnership that transformed the former site into a modern learning environment for the local community.
Officially opened in 2025, the £18.6 million campus has become a focal point for further education in Skegness, providing students with industry-standard facilities designed to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in higher education, apprenticeships and employment.
The development was made possible through significant investment from the Government's Town Deal programme, delivered locally by Connected Coast, alongside support from East Lindsey District Council and a wide range of partners committed to investing in the future of Skegness.
Since welcoming its first students, the campus has strengthened opportunities for local people to access high-quality education closer to home, while supporting the wider regeneration of the town by creating an inspiring environment that reflects the ambitions of the community it serves.
The Construction Project of the Year category celebrates developments that demonstrate excellence in design, construction, sustainability and community impact, making the nomination a testament not only to the quality of the building itself, but also to the positive difference it is already making.
Ann Hardy, CEO at TEC Partnership, said:
“We are incredibly proud to see our Skegness College campus recognised through this regional award shortlist. From the very beginning, this project has been about much more than creating a new building. It has been about investing in people, supporting aspiration, and providing our community with facilities that will inspire generations of students to come.
“This nomination reflects the strength of collaboration between everyone involved in bringing the campus to life. We'd like to thank Hobson & Porter, Jefferson Sheard Architects, Connected Coast, East Lindsey District Council and all of our partners whose shared vision has helped create something truly special for Skegness."
The campus offers a wide range of technical, vocational and academic programmes, with specialist facilities that mirror modern workplaces, helping students gain practical skills and experience that meet the needs of local and regional employers.
The recognition comes as the college continues to strengthen partnerships with businesses and community organisations across Lincolnshire, ensuring students benefit from industry-informed teaching and clear pathways into employment.
TEC Partnership would like to congratulate all of this year's East Midlands Property Dinner Awards finalists and wishes everyone the very best of luck at the awards ceremony.
