Law Firm Celebrates 12th Consecutive Green Award

Investors in the Environment is an environmental accreditation scheme that helps businesses reduce their environmental impact and operate more efficiently.  Each year they independently audit their members against rigorous standards, and the Green Award represents the highest level of achievement.

Ann Barrasso, Operations Director at Roythornes, said:

“We’re delighted and incredibly proud to have achieved the Green Award again – especially as it’s our 12th year of doing so.  As a firm we work a lot with farmers and landowners and as such we are very aware of how the issues of climate change and environmental impact are affecting businesses today.” 

Roythornes began its sustainability journey more than a decade ago and has since invested significantly in greener ways of working, including installing solar panels on offices, introducing staff electric vehicle purchase schemes, and launching office-wide recycling points.

Ann continued:

“We are at the stage now where sustainability is embedded in all the decisions we make – from the technology we use to the community projects we support.

 

“It also strengthens our business. By practising what we preach we show clients we understand their challenges, and it’s something that increasingly matters to people looking to join the firm.”

Roythornes is committed to encouraging others to start their sustainability journey.  Earlier this year the company hosted a round table event with key suppliers to share best practice and generate ideas for their own businesses. This will be followed up by a wider Sustainability Summit later this year which will be open to all businesses.
