Fenner Precision Celebrates Two Million Hours Incident Free
Fenner Precision Polymers UK, has passed a landmark of two million hours without a Lost Time Incident across its two sites in Lincoln.
Adam Desforges, HSE Manager said the number is important, but the hard work behind it is the real story.
"More than 350 people have contributed to this through the way their teams work, day in, day out," explained Adam.
"Our staff are always looking out for each other, speaking up when something isn’t right and taking ownership of not only their safety but the safety of people around them.
"It reflects a way of working that is embedded across the business - people taking responsibility and never losing focus.
"Our safety culture is the most important thing for all our team members, no matter where they work. Everyone should go home from their job in the same state they arrived in!"
The milestone also coincides perfectly with the 130th anniversary year of the James Dawson brand.
“Talk about good timing," exclaimed Adam.
"We’re thrilled with this achievement; it marks another important milestone in the history of the company and is one that’s been three-and-a-half years in the making!
"To commemorate, the Works Council team have organised a hog roast for all team members, so if you smell something good coming from our site, you know what it is!
According to Adam the result is underpinned by shared accountability, but no one is resting on their laurels, not least the firm's safety team.
"June marks the start of the Michelin Workplace Life-Saving Rules initiative," he explained.
"This focuses on five key areas to raise awareness around LOTOTO (Lockout, Tagout, Tryout), Traffic, Training & Authorisation, Integrity of Safety Devices and Specific Interventions.
"As they say, there is no rest for the wicked...or the Health & Safety team!"
