The MINI Repair Shop – a premium, independent automotive service specialising in the MINI and BMW marques – is expanding its operations in North Hykeham.

The company is taking on its third unit at Discovery Court on Whisby Road, where it has also recently renewed the lease on one of its two existing units.

Confirmation of the expansion of The MINI Repair Shop’s operation at Discovery Court comes from BTG Eddisons who acted as agent in the letting of the latest unit.

BTG Eddisons also oversaw the lease renewal on Unit 15 at Discovery Court – a scheme of business units in the North Hykeham area owned by North Kesteven District Council which is managed on behalf of the council by BTG Eddisons.

The MINI Repair Shop was one of the original tenants at Discovery Court when the scheme was built in 2021, the year in which Steve Chambers and Kyle Berry founded the specialist automotive firm. The pair remain the directors after years of experience in the motor trade.

Since leasing its first unit in 2021, The MINI Repair Shop has grown at Discovery Court and now occupies over 5,260 square feet across three units.

This steady expansion has been part of the co-founders’ original vision for their business which, although badged as Lincoln’s MINI and BMW Specialists, has a customer base that travels from across the UK as far as Cornwall and Scotland.

Steve Chambers explains:

“As a brand new development and in an accessible location, Discovery Court was the ideal starting point for us. We wanted to create a well presented business environment that aligned with the premium service brand we were aiming to build.

“At Discovery Court there was no ‘scruffy’ legacy of previous uses and this level of quality of presentation is something that remains across the scheme which is well maintained and professionally managed.

“It’s also in a spot that’s good for local and regional recruitment. As the business has grown, our reputation within the trade has helped us attract skilled technicians and apprentices.

“We expect to recruit to add to our current headcount of ten in the coming 18 months as we continue to expand the business and our newest unit becomes fully operational.”

Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of North Kesteven District Council, said, “As the landlord of Discovery Court we are proud to see businesses like The MINI Repair Shop flourish in our units.

"The MINI Repair Shop has been a tenant of ours since Discovery Court was completed and to see them expanding once again is great to see.

“We have also built a strong relationship with BTG Eddisons for almost six years and the partnership continues to blossom. We are very happy with the service they provide and it’s important for us to use a local agent who knows the patch well and understands the market.”
