Legal Eagles Appointed as Partners at Roythornes
Spalding-based law firm Roythornes has announced the promotion of two senior lawyers to partner, strengthening its leadership team as the firm looks ahead to its next phase of growth.
Private client and tax specialist Ben Taylor (right) and agricultural law expert Alex Murray have both been appointed partners, bringing the total number of partners across Roythornes’ five offices to 38.
Ben Taylor’s promotion marks a particularly personal milestone. Having joined Roythornes in 2011 as a paralegal, Ben has grown his career within the firm and is well known to many local clients.
Roythornes is something of a family affair for Ben too, with other members of his family also working at the firm. Ben advises many farmers and landowners across Lincolnshire and the surrounding counties, with a focus on tax planning and inheritance matters. These issues have come sharply into focus for rural businesses in recent months, making his expertise especially valuable at a time of change for the agricultural community.
Alex Murray joined Roythornes in 2020, just before the Covid pandemic, and has quickly built a strong reputation across the region’s farming sector.
As an agricultural law specialist, Alex is particularly known for helping landowners navigate complex infrastructure projects, including large-scale utility pipelines and cables connecting offshore wind farms to the National Grid. Working closely with farmers and landowners, Alex plays a key role in ensuring projects are managed fairly and that the long-term impact on land and livelihoods is fully understood.
Commenting on the appointments, Roythornes Chief Executive Adam White said:
“These promotions reflect both the talent we have within Roythornes and our confidence in the future. Ben and Alex are trusted advisers to their clients and recognised experts in their fields, particularly within the agricultural community which is so central to the work we do.
“As we continue to grow, it’s vital that our leadership team reflects the people and sectors we serve. I’m delighted to welcome them both to the partnership and look forward to seeing the impact they will continue to make.”
