Stirlin Announces Glamping Pods Project at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park
Lincoln-based construction contractor Stirlin has announced a new project at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park, delivered in partnership with client Torksey Caravans.
Stirlin has been appointed as main contractor to deliver key enabling and infrastructure works to support the delivery and installation of 22 contemporary glamping pods, helping to expand the park’s premium accommodation offering.
Works are due to commence in February and will take 11 weeks to complete.
Located on the banks of the River Maun in the heart of Robin Hood Country, Sherwood Forest Holiday Park is a peaceful camping and touring destination surrounded by woodlands, mature trees, open fields and lakes.
Renowned as a haven for wildlife, the park offers guests the ideal place to unwind and reconnect with nature.
Stirlin is a well established, award-winning contractor with extensive experience delivering projects across the commercial, industrial, residential, education and specialist housing sectors.
Known for its collaborative approach, programme certainty and ability to deliver complex works safely and efficiently, Stirlin continues to be a trusted partner for clients across Lincolnshire and the wider region.
As part of the scheme, Stirlin will deliver the infrastructure required for the new glamping pod area, including associated groundworks, drainage and service connections, a new access road, the necessary infrastructure for pod installation, EV chargers, an attenuation pond and landscaping works to complement the park’s natural surroundings.
Key stakeholders involved in the project include Torksey Caravans as client and William Saunders as civil engineer.
Caroline Parkes, Director at Torksey Caravans, said:
“We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Stirlin again on the development of 22 contemporary holiday pods at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park. Having worked with Stirlin previously, we know they deliver on their promises, work collaboratively, and consistently meet programme expectations – which made them the standout choice for this project.”
James Kirby, Owner of Stirlin, commented:
“Following the success of Parkes Way at Leafbridge in Hykeham – where we delivered 23,000 square feet of prime warehousing – we’re delighted to be partnering once again with Caroline on another exciting scheme.
“As specialists in delivering infrastructure projects, we’re proud to be paving the way for this development and creating the foundations for an exciting new offering for holidaymakers at Sherwood Forest Holiday Park.”
The introduction of 22 new glamping pods represents an exciting next chapter for Sherwood Forest Holiday Park, supporting modern holiday trends and creating additional high-quality accommodation options for guests seeking comfort, nature and a memorable countryside stay.
