Stirlin Completes State-of-the-Art Education Project for Kedleston Group

Local construction company and Team Lincolnshire ambassador, Stirlin, is proud to announce the successful completion of their largest contract to date.

Oakbridge School, part of the Kedleston Group is a specialist education project in Handsworth. Although located in Birmingham, Stirlin were keen to share this good news with local partners to highlight their experience and growing track record in delivering high-quality construction projects within the education sector.

The project involved the comprehensive refurbishment and redevelopment of a former secondary school into a purpose-designed specialist facility that provides a safe, inclusive and engaging environment for autistic learners in Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.

Kedleston Group specialise in providing education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including autism, ADHD and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. The new Oakbridge School reflects their commitment to creating nurturing, high-quality environments that empower every learner to reach their full potential.

The new facility boasts an extensive range of specialist learning and wellbeing spaces designed to enrich the student experience. Key features include sensory and occupational therapy rooms, a performance hall with stage, recording studio, multi-use sports hall and science and technology labs.

Further enhancements include a landscaped outdoor play area and sensory garden, alongside dedicated spaces such as an E-sports room, life skills room, food technology labs, Apple IT studio, immersive technology area and a canteen with a fully equipped commercial kitchen. Each area was designed to deliver a stimulating, modern and practical learning environment tailored to the unique needs of its pupils.

This project marks another successful collaboration between Stirlin and Kedleston Group, and a further showcase of Stirlin’s construction expertise within the education sector. By combining Stirlin’s technical capability with Kedleston’s specialist knowledge of SEN provision, the result is a high-quality facility that will make a lasting difference to students and the wider community.
