Lincoln MP Visits Fenner Precision Polymers

One of Lincoln’s oldest manufacturers welcomed Hamish Falconer, the city’s MP, to learn more about the history, capabilities and future plans of the business.
Dating back to the 1800s, originally under the brand James Dawson, Fenner Precision Polymers has been manufacturing composite polymer products on the same site just off Tritton Road in Lincoln.
It manufactures a diverse range of products from silicone and organic hoses to high-tech coated fabrics and industrial belting, providing over 300 jobs in the city across two sites.
During the visit Hamish was given an overview of business capabilities and then toured the facility, met manufacturing staff and product developers, and was introduced to several new products that support the renewable sector.
These innovations are the result of complex R&D work and are used in the hydrogen and battery electric markets worldwide.
Hamish ended his visit with a set of demonstrations in the R&D lab.
Mike Dickinson, VP of Air & Fluid Handling at Fenner Precision Polymers, said:
“Having Hamish visit was extremely useful. He was very receptive to our ideas, and his support will be greatly appreciated in the future as we look to expand and grow.”
Hamish Falconer said:
“It was a real privilege to visit Fenner Precision Polymers, one of Lincoln’s oldest manufacturers.
“The work being done here shows how Lincoln can play a leading role in the industries of the future, from renewable energy to advanced engineering.
“I’m proud that over 300 skilled jobs are supported here in our city, and I’ll continue to back businesses like Fenner that are investing in our people, driving innovation and strengthening Lincoln’s economy.”
