Introducing Lincoln City Sports College
Lincoln City Foundation has revamped its education department as part of a vision to become a regional leader in sports education personal development and pathways into employment or higher education.
The newly named Lincoln City Sports College better reflects not only the ambition of the project, but also the quality of what’s on offer for the next academic year.
The foundation has more than 40 post-16 students across its full-time education programmes, and more are joining each year thanks to the success of the courses.
The offer currently includes BA (Hons) Sports Business and Management, BSc (Hons) Community Football Coaching and Administration, and BSc (Hons) Sports and Coaching Development.
Alongside the rebrand, Lincoln City Sports College will be launching BTEC Level 2 from September, as well as a brand new master's course, MA Sports Leadership.
All courses will be delivered at the LNER Stadium, including any resit lessons, and timetable contact will be over four days.
Here are some statistics from the last academic year:
- 93% of students progressed into further education, employment or training
- 100% of students reported feeling more confident and supported in their career plans
- Over 1,000 hours of practical learning were delivered through sport, volunteering and community initiatives
- 70% of graduates moved on to university-level study, including BSc (Hons) Community Football Coaching and BA (Hons) Sports Business and Management
- Degree - 100% of year one students achieved at least a 2:1 grade and 66% achieved a first
- Degree overall – 100% achieved at least a 2:2 grade, 90% achieved at least a 2:1 grade and 40% achieved a first
- BTEC 100% pass rate, 62% achieved a merit grade and 13% achieved a distinction
