HETA Unveils Process Rig to Support Learner Training
HETA, the leading engineering training provider in Yorkshire and the Humber, has unveiled its new process rig, a major investment in the future of process operations training on the north bank.
This state-of-the-art facility has been designed to serve multiple industries, including oil and gas, food production, and manufacturing, ensuring that learners and employers have access to cutting-edge training and development opportunities.
A £500,00 investment, the process rig has been designed to meet the evolving needs of industry. It will provide hands-on experience for learners, offer employers a dedicated space to upskill their existing workforce, and serve as a hub for businesses to carry out their own research and development projects.
By creating this industry-focused training environment, HETA continues to bridge the gap between education and industry, ensuring that companies have the skilled workforce they need to thrive.
HETA CEO Iain Elliott emphasised how this latest investment aligns with the organisation’s long-standing mission.
“HETA was set up nearly 60 years ago by employers to address their skills needs. This project is at the very heart of what we do – ensuring that businesses have access to the facilities, training and expertise they need to remain competitive.”
One of the highlights of the event which showcased the process rig was a live demonstration by first-year learners, who confidently displayed the capabilities of the rig to an audience of industry professionals and stakeholders.
Their presentation not only showed their growing expertise but also reinforced the importance of practical, industry-led training.
The journey to getting the process rig fully operational has been a true team effort, and staff, learners and industry partners have all played a key role in bringing the project to life.
Looking ahead, the process rig will continue to evolve, shaped by the needs of industry. Employers are encouraged to share their feedback and requirements, helping HETA to adapt and expand the rig’s capabilities to ensure it remains a cutting-edge resource for training and innovation.
The unveiling of the new rig was just the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and HETA looks forward to working closely with industry to maximise its potential.
