Lincolnshire Showcases Opportunities for Dutch Agritech Investors
Invest Lincolnshire were delighted to welcome a delegation of businesses from the Netherlands.
The businesses were a mix of those involved in the Agritech sector as well as representatives from Wageningen University.
The visit was organised by the British Embassy in the Hague and Senior Place & Investment Officer Francesca East welcomed the visitors on behalf of Invest Lincolnshrie. The purpose of the visit was to showcase the scope and size of the food sector in Lincolnshire and the research and development opportunities at Lincoln Institute of Agri Tech (LIAT).
Starting the morning with a guided tour of the Riseholme Campus representatives heard from businesses such as Fruitcast and Agaricus Robotics, both highly successful spin outs from the University and Barclays Eagle Labs. The networking lunch was full of excellent conversations which are to going to be continued in the months to come.
The afternoon featured a visit the heart of food production & processing in Lincolnshire, Spalding, where visitors were kindly hosted by Worldwide Fruit who gave an insightful presentation and tour of the businesses, showing us how they had developed a culture putting their employees first.
Francesca East said:
"The Invest Lincolnshire team is here to promote Lincolnshire as a great place to invest and we specialise in connections, relationships and collaborations. Supporting this visit was what we strive to achieve, that is putting Lincolnshire in the forefront of investors minds for the Agrifood sector and enhancing our visibility globally.
