This milestone marks nearly a century of providing top-tier legal advice, building longstanding relationships with clients, and adapting to the changing landscape of law.
The firm was founded in 1934 in Spalding by Edmund Roythorne, with the early years dedicated to providing advice on agricultural issues. Over the decades, Roythornes have expanded their expertise, broadening its legal services to meet the diverse needs of a growing and evolving client base.
Roythornes has grown into a prominent firm with offices across the UK; Alconbury, Birmingham, Nottingham, Peterborough, and Spalding. This expansion reflects the firm’s dynamic approach to growth, ensuring that high-quality support is accessible to a wider audience.
Today, Roythornes are known for their comprehensive legal services including commercial property, corporate and commercial law, private client services, family law and personal injury claims.
To mark this exciting anniversary, the law firm are preparing for a series of events that reflect its rich heritage and community spirit.
The celebrations will include a staff party held at each office, bringing together employees to honour the firms’ achievements, including speeches from previous senior partners and a video montage of the firm’s history and changes since 1934.
The Spalding office are organising ‘A walk through History: Treasure hunt’.
A unique blend of celebration and local heritage. Participants will embark on an adventure through Spalding’s charming streets, solving clues that lead them to various landmarks including the ancient Spalding Parish Church and the picturesque Ayscoughfee Hall. The event was designed not only to entertain and bring people together but to educate staff on the rich cultural tapestry of the town that has been home to the firm for almost a century.
Growing relationships since 1934: A nod to Agricultural roots.
To commemorate the anniversary and highlight the firms longstanding relationship with the agricultural community, Roythornes have a special line of anniversary merchandise prepared for 2024, including packets of wildflower seeds. This thoughtful gesture symbolises their commitment to nurturing growth and prosperity both in the legal field and the agricultural sector. These seeds will be given out at Cereals, the arable event held in Bygrave Woods this June.
Finally, you may spot a refreshed logo from 1st July. The redesigned logo while retaining the firm’s traditional identity, incorporates the date Roythornes was founded and will remain on the firm’s website, merchandise, and internal documents until the end of the year.
Through the celebrations, the firm not only honours its past but also plants the seeds for continued success and growth, reaffirming its commitment to excellence and community service for years to come.
Team Lincolnshire sends their congratulations to the Roythornes team on achieving this fantastic milestone!
