Roythornes Solicitors Welcomes New Partners

Team Lincolnshire Ambassador Roythornes Solicitors has made a pair of partner appointments across its Nottingham and Spalding offices.
Commercial property specialist Stephen Kay has been hired in Spalding while corporate lawyer James Maynard has joined the new Nottingham office.
With more than 25 years' experience, Stephen was the head of the real estate department at EMW Law in Milton Keynes for 11 years and a partner for 14 years.
He said: “After 25 years in the industry I'm eager for a new challenge and supporting Roythornes' expansive objectives with its commercial property presence in Lincolnshire and the wider area is something I'm looking forward to.
“The firm has an impressive reputation in the landowning and property development sectors, but it will be my job to make sure we are capitalising on the numerous commercial property opportunities in the region too.
“I have lots of ideas on how we can elevate an already fantastic service we offer clients, especially in regard to ESG which is very applicable to commercial property transactions.
“I'll also be prioritising mentoring the younger lawyers in our team. Helping develop talent and passing on knowledge will be crucial to sustaining Roythornes' incredible 90-year-old legacy and I'm excited to be a part of that.”
James has worked in corporate law for the entirety of his career, supporting clients across multiple sectors with share sales, business and asset sales, private equity transactions, MBOs and MBIs, reorganisations, demergers, and shareholder arrangements.
Having worked in Leicester for several years, he plans to maintain his presence in the city while supporting Roythornes' growth in Nottingham and the wider region.
He said: “I have joined Roythornes in Nottingham at a particularly exciting time. The new city centre office is as good as any you'd find at even bigger national firms. The resources are impressive and we're in a strong position to capitalise on an already great reputation and client base.
“Clients of ours can expect a responsive and effective service, which is something that I had in common with Roythornes prior to joining and made the move even more appealing. The corporate offering in Nottingham is only set to grow, which is an exciting prospect for professionals and businesses in the region looking to be part of the journey.”
Managing Director Vember Mortlock said: “Stephen and James will be tremendous assets to our commercial property and corporate teams. Their ambition perfectly aligns with our growth plans to continue expanding our client base across the region whilst also deepening our commitment to Lincolnshire and Nottingham.
“Our size and independence allow us to provide high-quality and competitively priced personal service to meet the needs of the business community.”
