Dr.Eric Hilton and his small team at Nutrapharma work on some of the most fascinating and ground breaking projects in the UK.

Nutrapharma is a research, innovation and supply company based at the Boole Technology Centre on the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park. They work across a range of sectors including nutraceutical (food), pharmaceutical, medical device, cosmetic and agri-tech areas.

It is clear that Eric and his team live and breathe their work. They come to work each day because they are determined to solve the biggest challenges in health and science. Throughout the history of business people use science to make more informed decisions. Nutrapharma's mission is to make the science and healthcare economy more transparent.

They provide the most actionable scientific discoveries, data and insights in the industry. Eric wants to make this data and the products from their research available to as many people as possible (not just the top 5%) so everyone can live longer and healthier.

All this drive and ambition has resulted in Nutrapharma working with clients and universities to undertake challenges that can result in a product ready for market, as well as providing consultancy and regulatory expertise.

The variety of projects Nutraphrama undertake is both impressive and incredibly interesting; Eric describes it as 'cool stuff' to those of us who aren't scientifically minded! The scope is vast, and their reach is truly international! Here is just a snapshot!

The team are engaging in research and development (R&D) into 'Nano Iron' in plants in collaboration with the University of Nottingham Trent. Nanomaterials are used in practically every aspect of modern life, including agriculture.

They are also working with Innovate UK supporting a multi-team project around miniaturising tablet coating analysis, in collaboration with De Montford University. Further afield they are working with the University of West Indies on carbon capture.

Nutrapharma are also exploring the first steps into personalised medicine via personalised nutrion; looking at blood spot analysis and supplement delivery all in one. They are also producing Transdermal vitamins which can be absorbed via daily multi vitamin patches.  During lockdown in 2020 they even installed a manufacturing site and became a UK food registered manufacturer (nutraceuticals) & FDA registered (cosmetics).

Nutrapharma are also conducting a huge amount of R&D in Food Waste: Repurposing Funded research from SPRINT (Space Research & Innovation Network for Technology) in collaboration with the National Centre for Food Manufacturing at the University of Lincoln and the Open University.

And as if that wasn't exciting enough Eric and his team are soon to be featured on Channel 4's 'Food Unwrapped' programme, featuring fully traceable plant protein shakes from the UK; reducing their carbon footprint!

We hope you agree the research and work Nutrapharma is undertaking is phenomenal! We are incredibly proud to call Nutrapharma Team Lincolnshire members; and one thing is certain; when it comes to science and technology Dr.Eric is well and truly putting Lincolnshire on the map!
