Three plots of land at the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone totalling 1.23 acres, have been purchased by Stirlin, local property and construction company and Team Lincolnshire ambassador.

The company will be submitting a planning application for over 22,000sqft of light industrial commercial space.

They plan to construct twelve units that will be a mix of hybrid office and warehouse units, and traditional industrial units, for use by businesses in the agri-food technology and food sectors.

Cllr Colin Davie, Executive Councillor for Economy and Place at the county council, said: “This latest land sale is an exciting milestone in our ambitions for the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone.

"Stirlin’s proposals fit perfectly with our aspirations for the site, providing more options for food supply chain businesses wanting to locate here.

Businesses who come to occupy these units will benefit from the knowledge, training, expertise and talent that will help them thrive in the UK’s leading innovation cluster for the food sector.

The Stirlin development on plots 3-5 will neighbour local business AJS Automation, which provides electric engineering contracting support, as well as The Hub, Lincolnshire County Council’s centre for innovation at the South Lincolnshire FEZ, and the University of Lincoln’s National Centre for Food Manufacturing and South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone Campus.

James Kirby, owner of Stirlin Developments, said: “We are delighted to be able to invest in the South Lincs FEZ scheme.

"We were very impressed by the initial development concept and have followed with keen interest ever since, so were pleased to have agreed a deal with Lincolnshire County Council for three plots on the site.

“Our recent visit to the striking new serviced office space, The Hub, was further confirmation that we have made the right decision to invest in this exciting new scheme.

We are looking forward to bringing our high-quality brand of light industrial and hybrid space to facilitate businesses in the food and agricultural industry.

Jasper Caudwell, appointed marketing agent at Pygott & Crone, said: “Stirlin Developments has a proven track record in delivering high-spec warehousing and work spaces in the region and will offer a substantial addition to this ever-evolving site.

"The development will build on and enhance the already diverse offering and will facilitate business growth and job creation in the area.”

Pat Doody, Chair of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “This investment by Stirlin Developments is a vote of confidence in the site and we hope it will be the first of many such investments at the FEZ.

“The South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone has been made possible thanks to a successful collaborative partnership between the LEP, Lincolnshire County Council, the University of Lincoln and South Holland District Council.

The recent official opening was a major step forward as we seek to establish UK Food Valley as a top ten global cluster for food production.
