Why the rising star of the East Midlands continues to outshine

Greater Lincolnshire continues to buck national trends for growth and investment, despite the challenges of the past 12 months.

In an attempt to escape the South’s high prices and over populated areas, many businesses are relocating throughout the UK; a trend which appears to be furthered fuelled by the Covid pandemic.

Evidence is beginning to emerge that as people and businesses re-evaluate their lifestyle balance, coupled with the need to see value for money and ROI during uncertain times, Lincolnshire ticks more and more boxes.

In an attempt to underpin this growth Team Lincolnshire continues to nurture investment, and is actively working to attract more companies to the area through its dynamic Ambassador programme. As well as attracting ss investment into the construction and food sectors it is also looking to attract office based businesses which are looking to relocate.

Greater Lincolnshire offers so much; cost effective, high quality business environments, good transport links and access to an enviable range of business support from R&D, to practical support around planning and utilities. Lincolnshire’s average house price is 175k (National is 275k) whilst commercial land is between £200k-£300k dependent on location and services.

Over the past year the area has seen a number of high-tech/bespoke parks built fuelled by demand for more accessible and smarter employment space. These include both St. Modwens Park (above) and Leafbridge (below), based on the outskirts of Lincoln which have both already attracted a number of world class businesses.

Investment in transport links such as the Eastern Bypass is also fuelling demand; and this is also boosting growth across a range of industries.

Businesses that are already established in sectors here are looking to relocate more staff to Lincolnshire, and it is seeing huge investment from the Defence, Agri-tech and Digital Sectors. Renowned names such as MASS, Saga Robotics have all invested, as well as Digi-tech & Software companies such as ScholarPack – the school management software company who have located to the Mosaic Digital Hub; a bespoke collaborative hub which brings together tech businesses under one roof, giving space for innovation and growth.

Team Lincolnshire Ambassador Tim Downing of Pygott & Crone explains:

“Lincolnshire now offers the perfect solution for businesses in this new world, we have improved transport links, with six services a day direct to London’s Kings cross, affordability of housing and commercial space and land, a skilled workforce a very proactive public sector, excellent academic establishments, combined with a wonderful lifestyle with some fantastic tourist attractions. Lincolnshire really does offer a compelling investment for any business looking to relocate.”

Many businesses and agencies are looking to relocate their staff out of the larger cities to avoid the costs of high rents and commuting. Instead with many staff working from home for all or part of the week, the need for smaller employment parks which can provide a base for companies is bucking the trend.

Greater Lincolnshire has ready built space available, bespoke hubs dedicated to our key sectors such as agri-tech, defence and digital, or land to develop a working environment for companies of all shape and sizes.
