Visit Lincoln joined up with Team Lincolnshire, Lincoln City Football Club and Lincoln Castle this May to highlight how vital both sport and heritage are in fuelling the visitor economy and tourism.

Although not natural bedfellows, both play a huge part in driving the visitor economy for many regions, and their role in the recovery of Lincolnshire’s visitor economy should not be underestimated. This webinar explores the economic impact both play and addresses how place making can tie these two areas together, helping to create an attractive, vibrant community – which appeals to both visitors and residents alike.

Join Lincoln City Football Club, Lincoln Castle and Visit Lincoln to explore how the region can utilise these fantastic assets and kick-start the recovery of our important visitor economy sector. One of Lincolnshire’s most crucial sectors for jobs and the local economy, there has never been a more optimum time to support the sector, after the detrimental effects of lockdown.

Charlotte Goy, CEO of Visit Lincoln will join Liam Scully and Kimberley Vickers, Castle Manager at Lincoln Castle to deliver this exciting webinar.

Liam Scully joined Lincoln City in August 2017 after a distinguished career with Doncaster Rovers where he held numerous roles including a stint as Foundation Chief Executive before moving taking up office as Chief Operating Officer of the Club Doncaster Group.

Kimberley is the General Manager for Lincoln Castle and has worked in the cultural sector for over 15 years. Her role forms part of the Cultural Management Team for Lincolnshire County Council.  She has long championed the role that historic buildings and heritage can play in shaping peoples experience of a place and how this contributes to driving growth in the local visitor economy.

Charlotte is the Chief Executive of Visit Lincoln Community Interest Company, a Destination Management Organisation, which is promoting Lincoln as a place to visit, live, work and invest in. She has 12+years’ experience working across the sector delivering a comprehensive programme of business support to hospitality, leisure, and tourism businesses.

The DMO works with local stakeholders, private sector businesses, trade associations as well as Visit England and DCMS on its comprehensive support and marketing to Greater Lincolnshire.

After the presentations delegates will get the opportunity to ask questions to the panel. Joining the panel discussion are Team Lincolnshire ambassadors LK2; an award winning chartered Architects & Sports Business Consultant who brings a wealth of experience working across retail, leisure and sport.
